A. Update of Membership Roster: The roster was passed around for updating.
B. Combined Federal Campaign: The Secretary reported that 2007 CFC application was received by email and is due on 12 Apr 07. A brief review of the application indicates that we now must specify times for 15 office hours per week. The Secretary proposed specifying 4 to 7 PM, Monday thru Friday. We also need to specify our NTTE Code of “L Housing, Shelter.” Items no longer required in the application include the list of Board officers and meeting dates and the annual report to donors.
C. VA Connection (Bob Corsi): A total of $27,941 (Nativity Church Check for $26,866 and Burke, VA Knights of Columbus Check for $1,075) has been received from the Jan 07 collection at Nativity Catholic Church. Bob has indicated that the Graybar donation of electrical materials is in doubt. Marcel Moreau indicated that his employer, Service One, might provide electrical materials.

F. Account Signature Cards: President Vicki Edwards is coordinating with Vice-President Ken Zeiger and the Treasurer to get the new forms signed on the Fidelity money market account.
G. 2007 Deployment, 7-20 Jun 07: The Construction Director indicated that Sister Nancy has identified two families for this June’s deployment. The Dewayne and Rebecca Bledsoe Family has the highest priority. Dewayne works in a saw mill and the family has 3 children. The family is currently living in a very poor trailer. The Wendell and Shana Higginbotham Family have two young boys, 3 years and 1 month old, and live in a small trailer. Wendell is a State Policeman and Shana is the niece of Marlene Goodin (2001 Home). The Higginbotham Family has college loans and maternity bills. The Higginbotham Family may be replaced with another family if they move from the Bledsoe neighborhood which is off Highway 90 at the retirement home and before you get to the Tom Renfro Home (2005). The Construction Director’s current plan is to complete the first home thru the drywall and kitchen cabinets, as done in 2006, and complete the second home thru the weatherproof stage, similar to pre-2006 condition of the homes. The Construction Director identified a new requirement that if the homeowners take out electrical and plumbing permits they must be actively involved in this work or a State Inspector could shut down the job. The alternative is for Sister Nancy to hire a licensed electrician and a licensed plumber with costs yet to be determined. The Construction Director has indicated to Sister Nancy that the Crew prefers to have the homeowner work with us on the electrical and plumbing to avoid additional costs and so that we can be ready for the Monday rough-in inspection and do the drywall work on the first home. The Construction Director passed around the Crew List, the Carpool Plan, the Berthing Plan, a worksheet on cost comparison of the last 4 year’s of homes and a floor plan for the Bledsoe Family. The Construction Director still awaits information from Sister Nancy to do the floor plan for the second family. On the sites now identified, existing septic tanks can be used for the new homes. Kitchen cabinets from Lowe’s of Somerset, KY, cost about $1,300 in 2006 and Bill Campbell can build cabinets for about $2,000. The Construction Director plans to buy Lowe’s kitchen cabinets for the first home and use Campbell cabinets on the second home. The Building Crew (8-15 Jun 07) now has 31volunteers and the Drywall Finish Crew (13-19 Jun 07) has 3 volunteers. Vice-President Ken Zeiger will have the trailer ready for the deployment. With only 30 beds available at St. Joe’s Inn, air mattresses and sleeping bags may be needed.
H. 2007 Offutt Chapel Designated Offering, 10-11 Feb 07: We have received Offutt Chapel checks for $1,429.28 from the Catholic 2nd collection for and $1,520.80 from the Protestant 11 AM Service collection and the Protestant R.E. classes for a total of $2,950.08, compared to an 18-year average of $7,322.87. The Secretary is working on a donor list to provided to families in June.
